As planned, Edith had Carpal Tunnel Release surgery on her left hand.  That surgery went equally as well as the first and she's doing great.  For the first time in years, her hands aren't asleep all the time.  She's scheduled to have the bandages removed on August 11, 2006.

On June 6, Edith had Carpal Tunnel Release surgery on her right hand.  The surgery was performed at the same-day surgery portion of Duke Health Raleigh Hospital on Wake Forest Rd.  Dr. George Edwards, who is with the Raleigh Hand Center, performed the surgery.  http://www.raleighhand.com/edwards.htm

She had been so bothered with extreme pain in her hands due to Carpal Tunnel Syndrome that she decided to have the surgery.  The surgery was quick (6 minutes) and her bandages came off 10 days later on June 16.  So far the prognosis is WONDERFUL!!!  She is almost pain-free in that hand.  Still some more healing to do but, so far, it's been worth it.  Surgery on her left hand is tentatively scheduled for July 27.

Hooray for Edith!!!!!
